This committee is established as part of House Bill 1751, Hazing Prevention and Reduction Act, which includes a hazing prevention committee to promote and address hazing prevention. The committee must include:
- Minimum of 6 members, including a designated chair appointed by the president;
- 50% of the committee positions shall include students, one of whom participates in a student organization, athletic team, or campus living group;
- 50% shall include at least one faculty or staff member and one parent or legal guardian of a student currently enrolled at the college
The committee shall review and make recommendations to promote and address hazing prevention, with a specific focus on student organizations, athletic teams, and living groups.
