Are you ready to take action in an emergency and help make our campus and community safer? The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) at Lower Columbia College is actively looking for dedicated individuals to join our mission.
What is CERT?
CERT is a national program that trains volunteers to assist their community during emergencies. Lower Columbia College's CERT team empowers employees with essential emergency response skills and serves as an extension of the college's emergency response team. This means our CERT members play a crucial role in helping the college and community stay safe in critical situations.
Why Join the CERT Team?
- Gain Valuable Skills: Learn disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and medical operations.
- Support Campus Safety: Assist in emergency situations as part of the college’s extended response team.

Training Highlights
- Disaster Response: Learn how to assist in emergency situations.
- First Aid & Triage: Provide basic medical aid when professional help may be delayed.
- Fire Suppression: Safely extinguish small fires using the right techniques.
- Search & Rescue: Locate and help those in need.

- Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Location: Lower Columbia College, Health & Science Building Room #101 (Days 1 &2), TBD (Day 3)
- Food: Lunch provided by Red Devils' Cafe
