Board Policies
The Lower Columbia College Board of Trustees adopted a policy governance style of leadership that provides for a more visionary
role for the Board, greater empowerment of college administration, faculty and staff,
and slimmer volumes of policies and procedures.

Policy Governance addresses four areas:
- Ends describe what benefits the Board expects to result from college activities.
- Governance process clarifies the Board's own job and rules.
- Board staff relationships describe the delegation and accountability linkage through
the President.
- Executive limitations describe the parameters on acceptable staff performance.
